...signs MoU with Sierra Leone
SEPTEMBER 11, 2014 By Samuel Ben Turay
As part of their contribution to the country’s development efforts, the People’s Republic of China and the Sierra Leone-China Friendship Society yesterday commissioned four commuter waiting booths constructed in both the Western Urban and Rural districts.
The booths are located at Railway Line, Brookfields, opposite the China House; Ferry Junction; Allen Town; and Jui Junction.
The Sierra Leone-China Friendship Society on 4 December, 2013 submitted a proposal to the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone for the construction of “commuter waiting booths” within the Freetown municipality and the West Rural District.
The embassy responded on 3 April, 2014 by providing the sum of Le71, 428,500 (seventy one million, four hundred and twenty-eight thousand, five hundred Leones) for the construction of four booths.
The occasion was climaxed by the signing of a communiqué between the countries at the Chinese Embassy in Freetown, witnessed by school-going children and the physically challenged.
