Head coach of the Guinea national U-20 team, Mandjou Diallo, has selected 21 players, including an expatriate, ahead of their clash with their Sierra Leonean opponents in the preliminary round of the African U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Sierra Leone will host the Guineans in Makeni on April 5 for the first leg encounter before traveling to Conakry for the return leg tie in a fortnight, as the two nations seek a qualifying spot for the U-20 Nations Cup scheduled to play in Senegal in 2015.
According to guineeplus.net, Diallo shortlisted 21 players from the 25 he earlier called for training and the shortlisted players include two goalkeepers, six defenders, seven midfielders and six attackers.
Most of the players were selected from the Guinean local league except for Bangaly Soumah from Istres in the France league.
It could be recalled that in preparations for the Sierra Leone clash, the Syli Guinea recently engaged Cote d’Ivoire in a two-legged international friendly match with the Guineans winning 1-0 in the first leg but beaten 5-1 in the return leg.
