Samuel Bangura aka Lux P. winner of the African Young Voices (AYV) Cypher Uncensored reality TV Hip-Hop competition show season 3, has stated that signing a year contract with the Kabaka Multi-Media Entertainment (KME) was a dream made possible by AYV Media Empire.
AYV Cypher Uncensored is a reality TV Hip-Hop competition show in which the institution takes the mic to the street to identify talented youth in the musical industry.
At the conclusion of the competition, the winner receives a cash prize plus an opportunity to showcase his or her talent with one of the biggest music industries in the country.
Speaking to this medium after receiving ten million Leones cash prize plus one year contract with KME, Lux P. said he was very excited not for the cash prize, but for the opportunity given to him to be part of the KME team to further showcase his talent.
“Let me first of all use this opportunity to say thanks to God for giving me the talent to win the competition, and also say a special thank you to the AYV Cypher team for reaching me out there and giving me the platform to showcase my God given talent,” he said.
He said the competition was very challenging because all the contestants were good and called on other talented young rappers to make use of the AYV Cypher Uncensored to showcase their talent.
Speaking earlier at the prize presentation, the founder of the AYV Cypher Uncensored, Foday Mansaray aka Med Mans, said the show intends to motivate, inspire and develop a culture of positive self-belief and esteem that’s free from violence amongst young people as ‘we help them manage their talents and the potential’.
He said the rap and Hip-Hop’ music career can be translated into positive contributions to the society and ultimately national prosperity, adding that the show also preaches unity and peace.
The General Manager of AYV, Dr. Ezekiel Duramany-Lakkoh, said empowering young people in the country was one of the main objectives of the AYV Empire.
He said they have many youth empowering reality shows and they were going to create more shows that will help identify youth talents and empower them, noting that they intend to increase the star prize from ten million Leones to something more attractive.
However, AYV also presented fifteen million Leones (Le15m) to the Lumley Dancer Group as winner of AYV Hit the Street TV Show season three.
