He is set for May 3
Sierra Leone’s Hip hop King, Kao Denero and his Black Leo artistes thrilled the people of Bo city with a two day rap concert at the Coronation field on April 16 and 17th.
The rapper’s presence in the city rekindled his large fan base in each of the twelve districts in the country. In Bo, fans lined up from the check point just outside the city to welcome the hip hop star. News about his presence spread like wildfire, which immediately turned in to a carnival procession. Viewers have compared the crowd that rallied with him and also those that attended the show to that normally of political heavy weights in the country.
Kao was supposed to have launched his African King album in April with his guest artiste, Jamaican born dance hall mogul, Busy Signal. The date was rescheduled after Signal cancelled his trip to Sierra Leone due to the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Guinea and Liberia.
Not deterred by that, the Sierra Leone rap mogul started off with his rescheduled album launch in the city of Bo. May 3 is the date fans have chosen to fill the National stadium once more to see him perform tracks from his African King album.
Kao Denero stands to be the only rap artiste to stage successful concerts in the provinces. He did it last year after a nationwide tour. He is also credited to be the only rapper to park full the National Stadium alongside with his ‘Leo sojaz’.
“With or without Busy Signal we parking full the National Stadium,” says a fan ahead of the May 3rd African King Album launching.
