Airtel boosts Lumper Community Mosque with food items

As part of their corporate social responsibility to their valued customers and the people of Sierra Leone, Airtel-Sierra Leone,  one of the leading telecom companies in the country, on Friday 2nd June, 2017, donated assorted food items worth millions of Leones to ‘Yellow Masque in the Lumper Community, Waterloo.

 Speaking at the donation ceremony, Airtel Revenue & Market Planning Manager, Abibatu Junisa, said as people are observing the Holy Month of Ramadan across the world, they at Airtel had thought it fit to donate food items to their Muslim brothers and sisters in the country.

She said the main purpose for the donation was to tell their Muslim people in the country that, they care about them, hence donated food items to selected Mosques across the country during the Ramadan Month.

She disclosed that they have donated to other mosques in the country, adding that they shall continue to give back to their valued customers in the country for as long as they continue to operate.

She also informed the gathering about their ongoing promotion in which subscribers were winning provision every day, adding that at the end of the promotion, Airtel will fund three people to perform Haj.

She said all what a subscriber needed to qualify for the promotion ,was to  buy  credit or conduct Airtel money transaction, thus encouraging  the heads of the Mosque to use the food items judiciously for the benefit of other members.

Receiving the items, Chairman of the Mosque, Ibrahim Conteh, said special thanks to the Airtel team for the donation, adding that in the Month of Ramadan, there is blessing for someone who even provides water to somebody that is fasting.

He said they appreciate the donation and that they will continue to make mention of Airtel in their prayers throughout the Month of Ramadan, thus promising that they are going to make sure they use items judiciously for the benefit of all.
