The African Foundation for Development Sierra Leone (AFFORD-SL) will today launch Sierra Leone’s first ever National Business Development Support Network called the GROW (Generating Real Opportunities for Wealth) Network at Shangri La, Lumley Beach, Freetown.
The GROW Network’s mandate is to strengthen the SME sector through the provision of enhanced focused business support. The Network will be the focal point for business development and growth support services to emerging and existing entrepreneurs. The long-term desired outcome is for the GROW Network to become a self-sustaining legal entity, facilitating access to credible business development professionals across Sierra Leone.
The GROW Network will be made up of professionals who provide a wide array of professional services in various capacity to businesses across the country and will be anchored within AFFORD’s Business Centre, where a core AFFORD-SL team and the Network’s Steering Committee would provide leadership and oversight role to a larger network of Business Support Service professionals.
The GROW Network is managed by AFFORD-SL with support from the Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO).
AFFORD-SL was established in 2008 and seeks to facilitate the creation, protection and maintenance of jobs through practical support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Because enterprise development is a viable option for self-employment and job creation, AFFORD-SL advocates, lobbies and facilitates a conducive enterprise environment in Sierra Leone.
